Michelle Maguire from Tipperary will be working with veterinary practices across the region to support their day-to-day operation in her new role.
Having grown up with horses and dogs, Michelle started her career as a veterinary nurse at Troytown Equine Hospital where she went on to work as a neonatal ICU nurse.
Roles as a stud nurse and assistant manager of a stud foaling unit followed before she joined The Phoenix Equine Group as practice nurse. She also worked for a mixed animal practice and, most recently, a veterinary wholesaler for five years.
Michelle said: “A career in the animal health industry was a natural choice for me and I am pleased to have this opportunity to work with Dechra.
“I have a keen personal and professional interest in therapeutic and preventative veterinary medicine and Dechra’s portfolio of products, made my decision to join the company an easy one. Its values and ethics are very much in line with my own.”
Alison Casey, Dechra’s Business Development Manager for Ireland, said: “Michelle’s experience, particularly in the equine sector, will be a great asset to our team in the Republic.
“Our aim is to provide comprehensive support to veterinary practices through our Territory Sales Managers.”
